The main focus of our research is the molecular characterization of B cell lymphomas. Lymphomas are cancers derived from the cells of the immune system, and most often they arise from B- or T-cells in the lymph nodes. By the means of high throughput analysis of gene expression, genomic and epigenetic alterations in lymphoma samples we aim to elucidate oncogenetic mechanisms in lymphoma development. We also aim to identify prognostic markers and characterize biologically different subgroups of lymphoma. In functional studies on lymphoma cell lines and normal B-cells we focus on the effects of BMP- and TGF-beta signaling in lymphomas.

An overview of our key achievements can be found here.

The group is a member of Center for Cancer Biomedicine.
